Belarusian Sculptor Creates Artwork to Honor Dr. Jim Gates

Brown Theoretical Physics Center Director, Ford Foundation Professor of Physics, Affiliate Mathematics Professor, and Watson Institute for International Studies & Public Affairs Faculty Fellow Dr. Jim Gates was recently honored by Belarusian sculptor Pavel Wilimaytis.

The bust of Gates, which is a part of Wilimaytis’ series highlighting figures in science and culture, was originally modeled in plasticine before it was cast in Acrystal, a water-based composite material.
